Civil engineers play a crucial role in civil engineering labs and are integral to the delivery of the country’s infrastructure.
The Government has commissioned a study to assess the impact of the Civil Engineers in the Infrastructure Department.
It was announced on Thursday that the Civil Engineer (Civil Engineering Lab) would be created by the Department of Infrastructure, Science and Innovation to assist in planning and implementation of the infrastructure sector and to provide an opportunity for young civil engineers to undertake their professional education.
Civil engineers are responsible for the design and implementation, planning and operation of all major infrastructure projects.
“Civil engineers play an integral role in the delivery by the Government of infrastructure and are essential to the overall delivery of our nation’s infrastructure,” Minister for Infrastructure, Innovation and Transport Andrew Constance said in a statement.
As a result of the study, the Civil engineer’s position in the Department will be created.
