Google is gearing up to unveil its “Civil Engineering Laboratory” (CEL), a $200 million research lab that’s aimed at building systems that can predict and understand human behavior.
The CEL is slated to be unveiled at the Cybersecurity Forum in Washington, DC this Thursday, May 2, and will highlight Google’s efforts to help its own customers detect and protect against human threats.CEL is a collaborative effort between Google and the University of Washington.
It will consist of the Google DeepMind, Google’s AI lab, and the DARP Cybersecurity Labs, a group of top computer scientists that work to develop better systems and software for analyzing and controlling AI systems.
Google is aiming to use CEL to develop software that will help customers detect potential threats to their data, such as malware and botnets.
The idea is to develop an AI system that can be used to analyze data, detect human activity, and respond to threats.
Google will be unveiling a prototype of its new AI system at the event, which is hosted by the University, Google, and DARPA.
In addition to being able to detect human behavior, the prototype will also be able to identify threats and help customers respond.”CEL will be able, in effect, predict what human behavior looks like on a human scale, and we believe this will enable us to better understand how to mitigate the threat,” Chris Dixon, head of DARPA’s Cybersecurity Research Lab, said in a statement.
“We have been building our systems to be able for a few years now, and are now at the point where we can build something that can anticipate human behavior and help us protect against it.
The time is right to build a real AI system to help us understand human behaviors, and develop a better system to protect against threats.”
While CEL will help companies detect and respond against malicious and malicious data, it will also help companies predict and improve on human behavior to protect their own data.
“We are excited to be working with Google on CEL and look forward to learning more about it,” said Sarah Niederauer, vice president for research at DARPA, in a prepared statement.
“The goal is to provide tools that enable machine learning researchers to better predict and analyze human behavior in order to better help businesses, organizations, governments, and individuals defend against cyber threats.”
Google’s CEL program is part of the company’s broader efforts to improve AI, which has been a topic of contention since the company acquired the Google Brain startup in 2017.
Google has said it plans to build machine learning tools for both AI and robotics to improve their performance.
Google’s research into AI began with its acquisition of DeepMind.
DeepMind has been developing neural networks that are able to perform many tasks, such a speech recognition and speech recognition software that can tell people if a picture is of them.
